The Hello Kitty Bong
Some of the world’s greatest inventions have come from stoners sitting around doing what stoners do best. The Hello Kitty Bong probably isn’t one of those ideas.
Muchos Gmail Apps
Mark Lyon has written a cool program for those of you with gmail accounts. It’s a Gmail Loader which you can use to bulk import mail into your gmail account for backup, archiving and easy search-ability. As an additional service, he’s collated a stack of other gmail apps into one handy store.
8008135
This is an old one but seems ot have resurfaced again recently judging from the mails I’ve had suggesting it for the blog. Mary Beth Decker Stripping Flash Files – simply drag the bunny for hot b00b13 action. (NSFW and, trust me on this, don’t go crawling around the rest of the site).
Programmer Fonts
Programmers have very particular font needs. A font for programming must be monospaced, extremely readable, and must sharply distinguish between similar characters, such as capital O and zero and the number 1, capital I, and lowercase L. In addition, good programming fonts allow you to view more lines of code on screen at once. Keith Devens has a list of decent fonts you can use for programming.
Craigslist
If you need something… anything… cars, sublets, women, jobs, services, second hand stuff… anything! From anywhere in America and beyond! Anywhere! Then check out Craigslist. I shudder when I think about adminning Craigs database – it must be vast! However, you’d've thought that the creators of a site this big, informative and popular (google page rank of 7!) would employ a fvck1ng designer!! Simply put, I’ve seen prettier haemorrhoids!
Just Fcuking Google It
If, like me, you constantly get pestered by people asking questions that they’re too lazy to research themselves then you need Just Fcuking Google It.
RSSCalendar
Just found this cool new site called RSSCalendar. I bang on about RSS a lot (even more if you meet me face to face) as I do think it’s one of the most useful new technologies that even my mum can use (although it’s still in it’s infancy). This site lets you create calendar events and publish them via RSS. In simple terms, I could, if I chose to, add one line of code to gromblog then I could have a sidebar calendar that lists birthdays etc or I could share a reminder/task list/birthday feed with friends and colleagues. I like it – it’s simple enough for most people to use.
eBay item 5513857128 – My Husband
It’s amazing what you can pick up on eBay these days – take eBayer ‘fruitybun’ for example; She’s selling her husband. Not sure you’d want him though, she says: ‘My husband’s crotch is much like Bognor Regis… I’ve been there before, I found it disappointing, and the rides were very poor. ( not to mention the annoying seasonal trade).’ Still he is only currently worth £0.01p even after 4 days of bidding.
thanks Gary
More Men in Skirts
After the resounding silence over last week’s men in kilts post, I was sent a link to skortman’s page. Now, be careful before you click, imagine photos of a BBC weatherman wearing a mini-skirt. Not a nice image. That’s what you’ll see on this site. I feel dirty just having looked at the site. Nothing un-specifiaclly unsafe for work but your boss might start asking you some funny questions.
The Paper Napkin email rejection service
Ever get hassled for your email address by people who just won’t take no for an answer. Simply give them a yourname@papernapkin.net address and use their free email rejection service. Simple but neat.
Cockup on Dell online store
There’s been a boo-boo on this Dell Page where if you pick the fastest processor for this laptop, it knocks the price of the cpu off and refunds you another £200. Best be quick – over 100 of these have been ordered in my workplace but personally I’m not that fussed – I don’t have a spare £250 for a decent laptop even if it is a bargain. I thought I’d share anyway.
Quick Quiz Simple Enough for all our Readers
Have a look at Councillor Eileen Kinnear on this page (you’ll have to scroll down to find her)….. Is she wearing glasses or not?
TRON guy interviews Michael Moore fans
Remember the web meme Tron guy? He’s been picked up by a AMerican TV station as a roving reporter – his interviews with Michael Moore fans is brilliant – the guy is more wierd in real life than I had imagined.
The ‘Safest’ Bed Ever
The Quantum Sleeper is advertised as the ‘Safest’ bed ever. It should protect you from Bio-chemical attacks, kidnappers, stalkers, natural disasters but I doubt it will do anything for claustrophobics or anyone with a sense of self-respect.
FeralWeb – The Great Meatshakes Experiment
We blogged the magnificent Meatshake site over a year ago. It was set up by the equally magnificent Ugly Duckling to advertise their last album. It seems that B3ta have only just discovered it and failed to realise it was a spoof (which is understandable – it’s a great spoof). Since they discovered that it’s not real, they challenged their readers to accept The Great Meatshakes Experiment. Rather them than me.
iPod vs. The Cassette
If you’re still trying to decide on whether to buy an iPod or stick with your old skool audio then you might want to check out this highly scientific iPod vs. The Cassette research.
Fight Club – the game
After the furore over violent video games which has resurfaced in what seems to be a biannual event these days, I was amused to see Fight Club – the game had been announced. Have a look at the video trailer for it and see if you think that it will cause yet another moral outrage from concerned parents.
Old people Rock
More proof that old people rock.
Careless boy has broken neck for 10 years
I’m not one to laugh at other people’s misfortunes. Actually, yes I am. This poor kid has had a broken neck for 10 years without realising it. Best thing – his name is Liam Careless!
thanks anistropia
This is Pants
This is really pants – literally! The latest Aussie invention to thwart the age-old VPL problem is the Backless g-string. I might be missing something here but surely pants this small are getting pretty pointless – you may as well go commando. Mind you, the Aussies do like their miniscule undergarments (last link is NSFW).
Pixies Say No To Record Company, Focus On Touring
Interesting news from the Pixies camp – it seems that the newly-reformed band are not going to sign a record deal with any labels this time around. Instead they are going to concentrate purely on touring which, taking merchandising deals and sales of live recordings, might just make them as much money as they’d have made from a record deal. This is similar to other older, established bands with hardcore followings such as New Model Army.
Utilikilts – the Finest Unbifurcated Garments Money can Buy
Here in the UK we’re fairly well used to men wearing Kilts, but over the pond, some Americans feel the need to call them ‘unbifurcated garments’. Utilikilts are, I guess, the rugged man’s skirt of choice. The galleries are funny but best not look too long in case the homo-erotic tendencies become too much.
Dubya on Native American Issues: “Tribal Sovereignty Means That. It’s Sovereign” – what a genius!
George Bush’s latest public gaffe has just been posted to the web. – He was being questioned on Native American rights – his answer was basically that “Tribal Sovereignty Means That. It’s Sovereign”. He managed to invent new words like ‘sovereignty’ to explain his views. For the best fun, listen to the audio stream and wait for Rev. Jesse Jackson’s superb explanation of the prez’ views;
“The President explained. You just didn’t understand. Sovereignty is sovereignty. You understand? It’s like in sovereignity. If you are on a reservation, you have been soverized. Your Ph.D. is in soverbication. You understand? I don’t think you understand. “
The Miraculous Winking Jesus
From the department of pointless websites created by people with too much time on their hands comes The Miraculous Winking Jesus – which isn’t quite as scary as this Jesus!
Bush Shoot-Out
Our good buddy Gee Dubya gets involved with some super bad ass massive gun-totin’ rootin’-tootin’ death matchin’ in this cracking little game
Emley Mast
This is probably not very cool at all but… I live within sight of Emley TV mast… (which isn’t hard considering it’s 1/3 of a kilometre high!) and I find it strangely hypnotic. The original incarnation was considerably more puny and understandably collapsed in 1966. What I find amazing is how it seemed to completely miss everything it nearly fell on!
Free fonts
I like to do this every so often – I’m a sucker for cheapskate designery things cos I’m a cheapskate wannabe designer… here’s a bunch of free fonts on some obscure Japanese site and, believe it or not, some are actually pretty funky! Cheers sputnik!
Little basketball genius
Well, the big boss man, JC, has blogged a couple of things from the same site in the past few days so I don’t feel quite so bad about blogging this unbelievable miniature basketball player! You may have seen this whilst looking at the previous boss’s blogs but there’s a lot of pros that couldn’t do what this kids doing!
Mullet-tastic
I don’t care what anyone else says, Mullets arestill hilarious.
cheers Carlos
Pantswettingly-good Small Plaything
If you were in any doubt that the PSP is going to be THE handheld to game on, take a look at this video of Grand Turismo 4 and some random Japanesse game being played on one. Now open a trust fund, so you might be able to afford one for your kid when they turn 21.
