Bounce-based Cranberry Sorter

Remeber a few days ago we told you about a revolutionary new system for sorting pistachios by the sound they make when they are dropped? Well, I’ve just read about an age old mechanism for sorting cranberries by the same system. Sadly, I can only find one half-assed image showing the aparatus. Cranberries are dropped down a small flight of steps where they bounce over barriers on each step. If they bounce all the way to the bottom then they pass the test and are packed. The rest fail and are probly fed to pigs or something. Strange but true (search for word the ‘bounce’ on this page.
