Porcu-pined Pitbull
Pitbull attacks porcupine. The end result isn’t pretty (but why I am becoming more obsessed with how awful the owner’s shoes are?).
Model Vs Photographer
I like the idea of revenge behind the MidbrowArt Model Vs Photographer series of Terry Donovan’s images. NSFW and you have to take the male with the female – that’s the point.
Amazing Trompe L’Oeil
Check out these amazing trompe l’oeil murals done by Eric Grohe. He turns a flat walls into beautiful panoramic vistas. Bet he causes a lot of crashes too!
Needled
Specialist blogs are a big favourite of mine and Needled is the latest fine example that I’d like to share with you. It’s a blog about the art of tattooing, on skin and on canvas. More than that though, it also covers the culture, politics, and laws affecting tattoo art and is not afraid to use big words. Even if you’re not a tattoo afficiando you should find something in here that you like.
Movie and Music Fonts
We’ve not had a font post for a while now so here’s a decent list of Themed Movie and Music Fonts for free download. I’m loving the Atari, Galaxy Quest, Pacman & GTA ones in particular.
swanksigns – dedicated to the art of mocking public works
Some superb examples of the stupid or unintentionally hilariouspublic signs that can be found around the world.
cheers Mark
GALVANIZE!
GALVANIZE! is a game on the chemical brothers website based on their song of the same name – it’s every bit as weird as the song too.
To the BatCave!
Remember when Batman wasn’t all mean and moody. Biff! Bang! Pow!
Recreate those halcyon days in your own living room by buying a Shakespeare Bust with flip-up head concealing a button to access the BatCave (I guess you have to provide your own BatCave though) just like in the original tv series.
PMSL: Microsoft “Genuine Advantage” cracked in 24h
Funniest news of the week – it seems that the new Microsoft “Genuine Advantage” scheme that forces users to submit a serial number when trying to get updates from the MS site has been cracked in less than 24hours by a simple line of Javascript.
PMSL.
Cooking with Einsturzende Neuwhatever
I know some of our readers are fans of alternative band Einstürzende Neubauten (think I spelt it right – I normally just start saying it and kinda drift off towards the end in the vague hope that whoever I’m talking to knows what I’m saying and won’t ask me to repeat the name louder but can’t really do that when I’m typing it!). Fans will already appreciate that they’re not your normal run of the mill band but even their fans are a bit different – they have their own Vegetarian recipe site!
More mixing skills in one finger than I have in my whole body
This video shows someone who has more mixing skills in one finger than I have in my entire body!
Build your own Lightsaber
You’re not a Jedi until you’ve built your own lightsaber. This page will show you how.
Once you’ve done that then why not attempt some other Star Wars weapons?
Grom would never say “I told you so”
But he did: Illegal downloaders not all totally evil shocker
© Unnecessarily Exhaustively Informative Websites™
Did you know there are almost 2 trillion ways to lace you shoes? No? Good. This guy, Ian, actually worked that out! Find out everything about shoelaces – squillions of knots, how to lace, lace lengths, aglets, FAQ, lacing comparisons and ratings. I’ve got to hand it to him – his covered every conceivable angle!
Stuck On You
Very interesting viral marketing campaign from loctite – they’ve stuck a monitor to a wall with their glue and aimed a webcam at it. You can type messages in and see them displayed on the screen. So far the vdu has been there for 57 days and the glue is holding strong – you can have hours of fun trying to bypass the swear filters and display rude words on the screen.
Owen Pellow – he is a drawing machine
If, like me, you completely dig scritchy drawings of characters, created by a demented brain, you have just got to check out The Queue. Exquisite!
Formula One to be sold?
Interesting article on the BBC suggesting that there is a possibility of Formula One being sold for a billion pounds (you can insert your own Austin Powers manaical laugh here).
‘Ello John, Want a new motor?
Just found this very handy site for finding out useful information when you are looking at buying a new car. Honestjohn’s Carguides let you see brief but very informative list of good and bad points for every type of car (UK models only I think).
Origin of CTRL-ALT-DELETE
Courtesy of Milk and Cookies, David Bradley explains the origin of CTRL-ALT-DEL. In the process he delivers an ‘accidental’ low blow to Bill Gates. It’s official… Bill Gates cannot take a joke!
Blindfold Rubiks Cube
I used to be able to do the cube! No Really, I did… and once I did it in about 45 seconds! However, that was by inadvertantly memorising a ‘how to’ book (because I’d been through it too many times) and the faces just came together by luck. This guy, however is something else altogether. Just watch it! (Courtest of Fazed)
I am rickets!
What kind of horrible affliction are you? Answers on a postcard (in the comments) please.
Little bu99er
Don’t let the little bu99er get your cursor!
Try Something Original
An entire blog dedicated to the recent bombings. Before you roll your eyes and tut, just read this wonderful verbal kicking that ‘Tim’ gives the recent so-called bombers. Priceless.
Kill that frog
A-ring-ding-ding-ding-SPLAT!
Places I’d rather not be…
I don’t envy the photographer for where he was standing, but he takes a cracking picture!
WWII – if it was played in a chat room
How World War 2 would have been if it had been played using ac hat room.
Egg and Muffin Toaster
Our American cousins don’t normally have such an item as a toaster – grills seem to be the usual method for toasting bread but you can get toasters there – even some odd ones like the Egg and Muffin all-in-one Toaster. Bizarre!
The Agony and the Ecstasy
A band called The Sun have taken a load of videos from the Beautiful Agony website (which features people ‘diddling’ with themselves and turned it into a fascinating Pop video. I would say it’s NSFW but all you actually see are faces.
Yet Another Unnecessarily Exhaustively Informative Website
As part of our irregular series of Unnecessarily Exhaustively Informative Websites©. I’d like to introduce this huge catalogue of
C90 cassette tapes. Why, I don’t know but you’ve got to admire the commitment of the person who scanned all of these in.
Caught Red-Handed (well, kinda)
I love this mugshot of the 41yr old It Patrick Tribett who was arrested for glue sniffing (or ‘solvent huffing’). The evidence speaks for itself unless he was auditioning for a remake of Goldfinger!
