I have seen the future – and it’s goth
Before anyone has a go at me for the headline – it’s not mine, it’s from the article in the Guardian newspaper – I have seen the future – and it’s goth. The article amused me for several reasons but mostly because it quotes Choque who I used to know quite well (indeed, Carloz & I were both in a band with ex-Salvation members!) but also because the top ten list at the bottom brought back many, many memories.
GMT
Just a reminder to all of us in the UK to change our clocks forward this weekend.
I bet I still forget!
Sho-gun Wedding
Congratulations to my gaijin friend Alex aka Shiroi Baka who’s just gone and gotten himself a brand, spanking new wife (as opposed to a brand new, spanking wife I presume).
The Art Of Motion
The Art Of Motion is a great short video demonstrating stop-motion with a brilliant fight sequence in it.
Firefox bug causes couple to break up
An amusing bug report from Firefox – it seems a bug/feature of the password manager has caused a couple to split up after she saw dating sites that he visited in the list of sites that he specified that he DIDN’T want firefox to remember passwords for.
Well, it made me laugh.
How The Web Made Sure There Were Snakes On The Mother Bleeping Plane
There’s been a bit of an on-going malarky surrounding the upcoming Samuel L Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane. The movie sounds as b-grade as the title suggests but internet nerds have been making jokes about it since it was first mooted. The main issue most nerds had was that if the movie was as bad as suggested, the makers could at least acknowledge it by making it even cheesier and now they seem to have succeded as the makers have taken the almost unprecedented step of recalling the cast to shoot new scenes just so fans will get to hear Samuel L Jackson saying ‘Get those motherfarking snakes off my motherfrakking plane“.
Behold the power of the web!
I still can’t get over how much publicity this movie has drummed up from bloggers – I guess Samuel L Jackson will be having the last laugh.
Check out the trailer here – personally I can’t wait to see if it’s as good/bad as it looks – I think an all-time classic cult movie is about to be released.
OOTTINLTO
Today’s OOTTINLTO is brought to you by the words warcraft gargoyle – the results are SFW no matter what your settings for GIS are so don’t worry.

Best Amazon wish list
Puerile but classic Amazon wish list of Unfortunately named authors.
Smarter playlists
Theres a relationship between the ever increasing size of my iTunes library and the utter disorganisation of my listening habits. This low pain guide to smarter playlisting will hopefully prevent my guilty pleasures from being aired in polite company.
Too many puppies
I know this is everywhere but it’s soooo hard not to shoot the puppy.
Linux for designers
It’s finally becoming feasable for designers to ditch OSX/Windows for Linux and use open source apps to replace the increasingly expensive Adooby and Macromoodia bloatware.
Floodlemap
Living by the British seaside is great, I eat ice cream every day, get to work on a donkey and use a deckchair at my desk. Thanks to climate change the seaside is getting closer to everyone and this Googlemap helps predict when to convert your shed into a B&B.;
PS this is why global warming needs rebranding
How to become a Rockstar programmer
Well, if you call Fightstar rock then I guess this is all good stuff. Personally I prefer my Rockstars dead, so forget coding and borrow Grom’s homemade PC to blow yourself into geek Nirvana?
New Bands worth checking
Anyone who’s met me in meatspace will be aware that I’m something of a music junkie (mind you, so are Solomon and Carloz – I just have better taste). I’m having a girl group buzz at the moment and would like to recommend local band (to me at least) The Sugars and the absolutely bloody marvellous Brighton band The Pipettes who cannot fail to bring a smile to your face.

The Torn-Up Credit Card Application
I truly believe that Rob from cockeyed.com is one of the finest investigative journalists I’ve come across, not that he’d probably call himself as such. We’ve posted about his ‘pranks’ and research many times before but this time we’re highlighting his great Torn-Up Credit Card Application – not only did he destory and then repair the application form, he also changed all of the contact details and got it sent to another house and then authorised it using a cell-phone, ending up with a virtually untraceable card – free money if you are a person with few ethics or morals.

God, the 80′s sucked didn’t they?
Exit Music Songs with Radio Heads
If you haven’t heard Mark Ronson’s superbly funky cover of Radiohead’s ‘Just’ then click on the link and see the just as cool video for the tune. It’s taken from the forthcoming ‘Exit Music Songs with Radio Heads’ covers album and you can find the tracklisting here – worth checking out even if you’re not a Radiohead fan. Come on, it features pri.me.uk favourite RJD2 which can’t be a bad thing now, can it?
Dinosaur Rap
Some nice synching in this Barney as 2pac video (NSFW language).

Urban Star Wars Photography
I love these photos taken by French photographer Cedric Delsaux. The images are a combination of toys superimposed onto striking architectural backgrounds. The idea of Clone Troopers sniping from inner city tower blocks makes for a good picture. Many more of his shots here.
thanks Simon

Sorry
Apologies if you’ve sent us any mails recently, I’ve not been able to access the mail account for the site for the past week but have almost fixed the error – please don’t be offended if I haven’t posted your submissions, I won’t have seen any recent submissions but rest assured, I’ll be back on track soon.
Massively Multiplayer Online Boggle
I didn’t think that an online version of Boggle could be so addictive until I realised that I’d just spent the last hour playing it and saying ‘just one more go’ to myself. It’s also a cool demo of some nifty coding, it should work on any browser and is all done without the use of plugins – you don’t even have to register.
Tiny puzzle game
The excellent little game El Complo is another of those ‘click the objects in the right order to make the short story unfold’ type of games. It took me about 20 minutes to finish this one.
iTrip PSP
Griffin Technology has been making really excellent iPod accessories for several years now. During the same time, our poor ol’ PSP hasn’t gotten much love in the way of quality accessories. That changes today with the introduction of Griffin’s new line of PSP gear. Our favorite is the iTrip PSP ($50), which lets you bypass the lame built-in speakers and wirelessly listen to your games, music and movies through your home or car stereo system. (nicked wholesale from uncrate.com ‘cos I’m way too busy today to re-write it.)
Ladysitters
Man oh man, I’ve gotta get me a Ladysitter.
Web 2.0 or Star Wars?
For the web monkeys out there, take this test to see if you can tell the difference between Web 2.0 or Star Wars names.
