Man buys farm, finds vintage cars
ok, so imagine you live in portugal and your moving house. you find a lovely farm house set in a decent plot of land. the place has been empty for 15 years! Whilst exploring your new property you find a large barn in the trees. the door is padlocked shut and its all rusted solid. so you grind the padlock open…
& no, I’m not going to tell anyone where either of these people live!
Dang, that’s a lot of cars! Any idea what the collection is worth?
The Porsche 356 is worth at least £50,000 on it’s own – I think they were the first production sports car that Porsche released and this one hasn’t been touched in over 15 yrs – that’s a lot less miles on the clock than any other around.
Thank you Jeremy Clarkson… and now we’re going to throw caravans into canals…

As far-fetched as this might seem, I have a relative who apparently has a barn full of cars (including at least one Bentley) and I also know a farmer in Northern Ireland who has an awesome collection of vintage cars in one of his sheds. The farmer has been collecting them for years but can’t afford the insurance so basically doesn’t ever show anyone the cars apart from close friends, although he occasionally lets people use them for weddings – I’d say he has about 35 vehicles ranging from Ford Model T’s to ‘Back to the Future’ DeLoreans. He’s a lovely bloke and very passionate about the vehicles which are all spotless but he has no descendants and his only family are his brother and sister who are the same age as him (70+). I really hope that his collection remains intact and is looked after when he passes away (although being Irish farming stock, he’ll probably still be going in 30 yrs time!).
