What the Sushi See

Very nice idea that works surprisingly well – expect to see it in an indie movie opening near you soon – simply stick a camera on a Sushi Conveyor and film the conversations and people on it’s journey.

The schoolkids sneezing orchestra is classic interactive nuttiness – bizarre but endearingly cute.

The Human Timeline

It seems from this human timeline image that human history has basically involved just fighting and fcuking. (LSFW).

Cock Rock

We’ve been accused of being too male-orientated in the past (when we had more b00b13 posts than now) so to redress the balance slightly, here are a whole stack of Rock Cocks. I hope that those who are that way inclined enjoy seeing the flaccid members of bands. (Site isn’t NSFW until you clickthrough to the individual images – it’s all blurred until then).

Odd Geek Toys

Make your very own literal Mouse Mouse.
Save what privacy you have left, get some FlickrBlockers.
Freak your neighbours out with a Solar Corpse light for that Return of the Living Dead feel in your garden.
Or, slightly more sanely, get this rather excellent Atari Joystick Candleholder.

From the ‘Where Are They Now File’

What really makes this Islington punk squatter documentary from 1983 an must-see is the Australian voice-over, fantastically condescending.

Tire ski jumping

In an experiment surely to be shamelessly copied by TopGear in a future episode, a Japanese show chucked 6 tyres, including an F1 tyre down a ski ramp to see which one would go fastest and longest.
Solomon, you don’t need to point out that the F1 tyre is a Goodyear and hence this is either quite old or it’s not strictly speaking an F1 tyre – I was nerdy enough to note this too but didn’t think anyone else would care ;P

I hope I don’t have to explain this to any of our readers, if so – shame on you.

Top 10 Incredible Recordings

There’s some weird and bizarre things in the Top 10 Incredible Recordings list. I’ve heard most of these before but it’s a good collection of unlikely bedfellows and do be cautious with the Jonestown and exorcist ones if you’re easily spooked – read up on them first.

Colour Lovers

colour lovers is a great site for designers and anyone with an interest in colour palettes (maybe I should find a way to make that sound sexier?). I am particularly fond of the colour palletes of the Masters post and the one on Posters from Top-grossing movies.

Sideshow World

I was just having a conversation with a friend about the old Jim Rose Circus , how much fun it was and how it got ruined by the whole Steve-O/Jackass crew taking the sideshow aspect out of it and making it a gross-out. I was wondering what happened to Jim when a mail dropped into prime towers pointing me to Sideshow World which, whilst not actually about Jim Rose still managed to feed my obsession with sideshows and sideshow freaks.

Prison ‘Camp’

As part of the fitness routine in a Philippine jail the inmates have been forced to become backing dancers for the Pet Shop Boys exercise to humiliatingly camp songs including Michael Jackson’s Thriller (that’s 1500 prisoners/ladyboys/murderers in orange prison uniforms dancing together).

Japan’s Hello Kitty Cat Humiliation System

We all know that the Japanese treat Hello Kitty as a religion and they love dressing their pets up in ridiculous clothes so the next logical step has to be the Hello Kitty Cat Humiliation System – the end results can be seen in magnificent effect in this gallery.

Goatse hits the Primetime

It may have only been for 1/24th of a second but how much longer would you need to spot Goatse on tv? It seems that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both spotted the offending image.
Teh interwebs will always have the last laughage.

I’m afraid I can relate only too well to the Flight of the Conchords It’s Business Time video. Let’s just leave it there shall we?
I’m checking out a lot more of these guys work, having been sent a few links for them and liking them all – hadn’t realised that I’d heard some of their stuff before on radio here in the UK.

The Hello Experiment

Remember the seminal (as it iconic – and not-sperm related although it could be aruged…) video for Lionel Richie’s Hello? The Hello Experiment sought to find out if you could recreate the sculpture whilst blindfolded. You might want to turn the sound off to protect your ears from this aural poison.

We’re on a roll here with the photo-related goodness. How about an interactive 13 gigapixel image of Harlem?
Or if that doesn’t impress you, what about the stunning photos of Koen Demuynck?

MOO Stickers

Moo are at it again, we’ve featured their cool cards and notelets before and now they are selling MOO Stickers – a print-your-own sticker service using your own images (again with Flickr, bebo, photolog etc integration). There are even some nice ‘designer‘ stickers to choose if your own images leave something to be desired. I can feel a burst of urban assaulting coming on.

Photography Masterclass

As always I’m indebted to our readers for highlighting cool stuff to us. Bear reminded me of the fantastic photoshoot printed in the Guardian newspaper a few months back – the Comedy Special had comedians reproducing famous images iwth often disturbing effect (viz: Johnny Vegas as Demi Moore). anistropia also pointed out a great collection of Derek Ridgers’ images here – especially worth it for the Marc Almond image.
