Tattoos for the Blind
This is certainly not a new idea, I remember having a discussion about this very thing with Solomon years ago but that only goes to prove what clever people we are. Braille tattoos are simply subdermal implants made of silicone or titanium which leave the surface of the skin intact but raised just like braille.
Smashing idea – obvbiously, implants such as these have been done for years – the main problem is the implants have to be put in beneath the entire dermis (to minimise the chance of rejection), such that “braille tattoos” would be like trying to read a pile of lentils under a sheet of rubber flooring!
hmm… have I just exposed myself as a “bod mod” geek?
Not that it’s important but the braille on that arm reads: sun
