10 Signs Your Post Just Sucked
I’ve normally make my own Thread Busters but some of these are quite good – expect to see them in your inbox if you send me cr4p.
*Bonus* Have an extra offensive motivational poster spoof.
Time to plunder…
Like the previously posted custom Google search sites, Google Pirate is just a front end to Google that helps you to search more specifically and easily.
Classic Movies on Youtube
If you want to watch some of the all-time classic movies then this youtube playlist has loads of them (assuming they don’t get taken down).
Must have been a Cycle-path
“In almost four decades in the law I thought I had come across every perversion known to mankind, but this is a new one on me. I have never heard of a ‘cycle-sexualist‘.”
Let Google run your domain
If you’ve got your own domain then you should check out this simple, easy to follow guide on how to Migrate Your Domain’s Email to Google (And Maintain Your Addresses).
Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer
Those of you with long memories will remember that our very own Carloz played with a banjo-driven band called Rock, Onic & Bob a while back. Sgt Rock from that band is now coming at you like Terry Thomas having a cup of tea with Chuck D as Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer. It’s all very Noel Coward and he’s coined the marvellous genre tag of ‘Chap-Hop’ to describe it.
Approved.
Viva Caligula
Adult Swim have many cool games on the site but a few of them seem to exist purely for the name and lack a certain level of gameplay. Viva Caligula is actually quite cool (and very bloodthirsty).
The Most Unfortunately Named People on the Internets
We’ve had many cheap laughs at unfortunately named people in the past so why stop now? Here’s another list of Unfortunately Named People on the Internets. They’re missing many of the old favourites (no wankdorff, wanker, spunkum, jizz to name but a few).
How Not To Flip Over A Car
For some reason, this video showing How Not To Flip Over A Car reminds me of the project I’m working on at the moment!
cheers sp4mmonk3y
They’re just breasts
Well, they’ve got my support even if they seem to prefer to go without support (coat, hat, etc)
How to dump 20,000lbs of sodium
Sod the environment and to heck with health and safety – in the old days if you wanted to dispose of 20,000lbs of sodium you just dumped it in a lake and watched the ensuing fireworks.
Man hurt due to being an idiot
I’m kind of in two minds about gun control. On the one hand, I’m thoroughly British an dthink guns are inherently abhorrent and pointless things for the vast majority of people to own – on the other hand I think Darwin had it right and we should let everyone have guns and see who’s still alive after a few years.
Aerosith
As with many, many tribute bands the name is everything – never mind how dreadful Aerosith sound – they have an awesome name.
Whilst we’re at it, have some other Star Wars links;
The Darth Vader Gargoyle on Washington National Cathedral.
Han Solo in Carbonite/Lego (I’m surprised no-one’s done a miniature version of this as a USB hard drive cover.
How the Death Star works (insert your own Clerks joke here)
Musings on the Death Star Trash Compactor.
Missed Episode 3? Catch the short Flash version.
Name That Game
Even an old fart into his retro gaming like my good self found the Name That Game, erm, game really difficult – ‘simply’ identify the 8bit classics from audio samples.
New Futurama Trailer
Kiss my shiny metal ass – there’s a new trailer out for the Futurama movie – Bender’s Big Score!
This Monkey’s Gone to Heaven
Nice Wonderbra tribute to the Cadbury’s gorilla.
Completorrent
Nice. Much like the previously posted givemebackmygoogle, Completorrent is simply a customised Google search query that’s been given it’s own domain – it allows you to search across tons of torrent sites at once.
Natural Beauties
Check out the excellent Hi-res images on the slideshow accompanying this story about the animal kingdom from the artist and filmmaker’s perspective.
If you’re in the mood for some great shots, check out this slideshow of images on Iran – not exactly the country the warmongerers would have you believe it is – it’s been high on my list of places I’d love to visit for a long time now.
The Beatles Interview
I’m with Marge Simpson, Ringo was always my favourite.
Truck Blown To Bits
That’s one hell of an explosion.
The Chopstick Bra
Tenuous is not a strong enough word for the link between deforestation and the Triumph Chopstick Bra. You can just imagine the marketing dept sitting around wondering how to jump on the environmental bandwagon – amusing since they’ve got the easiest job in the world. Let’s face it, asking journalists to do a feature that focuses on breasts is like asking a teenager if he’d mind reviewing a pr0n site, they really didn’t need to make this bra to get the publicity.
1guys1cup
A jolly little parody video for you – 2guys1cup. I understand that this is much funnier if you watch 2girls1cup first, but we recommend that under no circumstances whatsoever should ever, ever, EVER watch 2girls1cup. If you combine JC’s post of reactions to 2girls1cup (30th Oct) with this parody video you may get a pretty good idea of what the original video is about… apparently. I would obfuscate “2girls1cup” but JC has already sullied the good name of Pri.me with it so we might as well get the content filters completely freaking. BTW, did I mention that you shouldn’t watch 2girls1cup? Ever? It will scar you.
Worried enough?
If that weekend feeling is coming on a little too early and the worries of the week are far behind you, why not take a look at the global incident map to remind about things you ought to be freaking out about. Possible repost…
Degrees of confusion
As a semi-counterbalance to the previous story, I’ve been guffawing about this story of ‘Cool Cash’ card confusion. We ran an informal survey on one of the mailing lists I’m on and found that one person’s 6 yr old daughter could understand the concept of negative numbers without any problem, but far be it for me to cast aspersions on the mental capacity of those who chose to play scratch card lotteries.
Jeff Stelling – Northern Hero
What a fantastic rant by Jeff Stelling – I just love the way it cuts and then he’s still going when it returns & this on a sports channel!
VectorMagic
It’s a good day for graphic tools – VectorMagic came out last week but I refrained from posting it then as the site was hit hard. Luckily they’re back with more servers to bolster the site.
Vector graphics are often seen by some as the poor relation to photo images – that’s rubbish, every logo you see is a vector image and the most obvious difference is that they’re infintely scalable without losing any definition. Vectormagic’s purpose is to turn non-vector images into vector images – sounds simple? It’s not and I’ve used a fair few tools to attempt this conversion in the past normally with the end result that I end up having to ‘trace’ the original in something like Adobe Illustrator. I can’t even start to count the man hours I could have saved by using this online app – it’s amazing. I’ve spent hours recreating company logos when the company ‘lost’ the original files (ie: the IT guy left) but this does it in seconds and perfectly. I have a feeling that this would also be very handy for doing screenprinting.
WikipediaVision
Oh dear, I can see myself spending far too much time staring at WikipediaVision. It’s still a beta but it’s a great mash-up of google maps and Wikipedia which allows you to see the edits occuring in near real time by geographical area. Unfortunately the first two edits I saw were pointless and abusive edits – basically ‘xxx is gay’ – but I re-edited them back, it does show how much vandalism goes on, despite all of this, I still like the idea of Wikipedia as long as you doublecheck your facts before touting information as gospel.
*Edit* It’s possibly worth pointing out that it’s only the anonymous edits that are shown hence the greater likelihood of seeing instances of digital vandalism.
