jPod – The Series
This one caught me off guard – there’s a tv series screening in Canada of Dougles Coupland‘s jPod. Douglas Coupland is one of my favourite authors and jPod was the ‘sorta’ follow-up to the classic Microserfs. I’m intrigued to see if it works as a tv show, I’m hoping that Douglas’ involvement means it will. I can’t view the episodes on the CBC website which may be a region-locked thing but you can get the episodes from most friendly binaries sites (Easynews is my recommendation).
Hmm,
Whilst it seems true to the novel, I think I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve watched an episode – it does seem a bit…hate to say it…American for me. By which I mean corporate/network America – not quite as ‘Canadian’ as I expected.
(did that make sense or did it just sound racist?)

Um, no, it rates as one of the worst things I have ever seen. Worse, even than Kindred: The Embraced (based on the Vampire RPG).
