WatchFuturama
The WatchFuturama.us website does what it says, it allows you to watch ”’Futurama”’ online (all 5 series and two movies are working at the time of posting).
23 Tubes 1 Bowl
I’ve no idea how one accumulates 23 tubes of expired toothpaste but this guy did and decided to mix them to make 23 Tubes 1 Bowl. Yay, the Internets!
Come Play With Us
Nice idea for a (slightly creepy) party – Come Play With Us takes place at the end of this month at the Timberline Lodge. The Lodge was used for the external shots of ”’The Shining”’ and the party aims to recreate the 1920′s era ball featured in the movie.
Connect-the-dots tattoo
I think we’ve posted the Connect-the-dots giraffe tattoo before but just in case…
Pokeyermom
How long until a pr0n version of the Tuttuki Bako box comes out?
Blender Defender
Although the Blender Defender was designed to keep this guy’s cat from jumping onto his kitchen worktop, I can think of many far more evil uses for the setup.
Yet Another Reason Civilization Is Doomed
/me hangs head and slowly shakes it.
Hobnox Audiotool Update
In case you missed the comment in our Hobnox post last week, David, writes to tell us that there’s a new version of their stunning Audiotool and you are now able to save, thus making this even more awesome-er (yes, I know!). The other additions are all very good and help to make it a much more usable tool, especially the dock at the bottom of the screen to help navigate around and the splitter and mergers – they’re very, very nice indeed.
Stop! Hammertime!
Is the Stop! Hammertime! firefox extension, possibly the best extension ever? Or if you’re more of a Motown fan then try the Stop! In the name of Love version instead!
Networking Cheat Sheets
I know many of you will be out-geeked by these but this collection of networking-related Cheat Sheets are exactly what I need on the walls at my office.
Acid Machine
I think I’m quite in love with Gijs Giekes’ Acid Machine – synth with rotating visualizer. If only he’d sell the pre-printed circuit board so I could make my own.
BMX Bandit
I was watching this video of Simon O’Brien doing some amazing BMX tricks when I realised I was whistling along with the background music – it’s a track I’d been trying to find for ages – turns out it’s by ”’Hilltop Hoods”’, another great Australian rap band and is called ”’Nosebleed Section”’. Now to go buy a copy (unless anyone has a copy that they need backing up offsite).
Paddle Faster!
Paddle Faster! ROFL.
Silly Auction
Our US correspondent Kim has sent me details of an odd auction for a Heart Shaped Potato on ebay. I was amused by the description as ‘Mint’ and the fact that it had been kept in the ”’frig”’ to keep it fresh!
How to Become a Pedant in 10 mins
Simply read the List of common misconceptions entry on Wikipedia and then go out to a party and I guarantee that you’ll be the most unpopular person in the room if you quote from any of it – for that 100% killjoy, know-it-all effect.
Chess Alternatives
How about some variations on chess?
Tarvuism
Reading through their literature and watching their videos, I am now a firm believer in the Tarvuist faith – whatever it is.
An excellent spoof from the makers of ”’Look Around You”’, ”’Peter Serafinowicz”’ and ”’Robert Popper”’.
Bash is back
Woo Yay! Bash has returned. The collection of insane IRC chat logs never fails to amuse.
Stephen Fry’s Twitterings
”’Stephen Fry”’ has a Twitter stream and unlike most people’s twattering’s, it’s actually interesting (but what did you expect from the polymath genius?).
WoW What a Geek
As this guy points out, his hobby only costs him $5,000 a year for his 36 World of Warcraft Accounts and many people spend more money than that on their hobbies but I bet $100 that he doesn’t have a girlfriend (and I dispute his figures as it doesn’t cover the cost of his hardware). At least he can carry out raids on his own which is probably a bonus, maybe.
Whilst you’re on the site, check out the amusing Vagina Hero and the new, very nice, Lara Croft.
KazooKeylele
Best.instrument.ever. The KazooKeylele is a work of utter genius – take one baby piano, bolt on a ”’ukelele”’ and add a ”’kazoo”’ and play ”’The Final Countdown”’ on it. Ladies and gentlemen I think the internet is nearly complete.
*Edit* I’m at work so can’t totally verify this but I do believe that ‘ukelele porn’ might break Rule 34 of the internet. If this is so then it’s the end of the interwebs!
Extreme Face-Painting
James Kuhn is a Michigan drag-queen and born again Christian (but we won’t hold that against him) who does the most amazing face-painting.
Ischial callosities
Ischial callosities apparently are the leather-like pads on a monkey’s bum according to this list of obscure words. I’m going to see how many of these I can get into my next work performance review.
A Favour to ask
I don’t normally do this kind of request but I’d consider it a personal favour if any of you who saw our previous post about the excellent Pencil Rebel site would consider voting for Grzegorz in this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. It’s very easy to vote, simply go here and look for the E4 Grand Master Flash Award at the bottom. You have to give an email address but everything else is optional so you won’t get spammed.
Thanks.
Artifacts of Geek History
As a self-confessed book-geek I think I’ve just found nirvana. Wow, just…wow!
Doctor Doctor..
To see the rest of the (very poor) joke check out the stunningly simple to use xtranormal site.
Xtranormal is in beta but is a very, very easy to use online animation maker. It’s so simple that their tagline is ‘If you can type, you can make movies’ and it’s almost true – it uses text to speech in combination with set backgrounds and characters.
The movie I linked to above took me less than 5 minutes to make. Much, much less than 5 minutes (and it shows).
Dead Celebrities Made Out Of Fonts
Typography vs Dead Celebrities.
Who Wants to Live a Million Years?
We all know creationists blow goats but why not play at being ”’Charles Darwin”’ yourself with the Darwin: Who Wants to Live a Million Years? game.
Ujino Muneteru’s Rotators
As a huge fan of acts such as ”’Test Dept”’ and ”’Einsturzende Neubauten’, I was very insterested to see this little video on Japanese sound sculptor Ujino Muneteru’s Rotators.
I found this on Hobnox who provided the very popular audiotool link from yesterday and I’ve got to say I’ve been really impressed with the video streaming – full screen with no noticeable buffering and excellent content too – good work guys!
