Sugar Lips

A pointless but fun Sugar Lips facts page worthy for inclusion mainly for the includion of the gem ‘Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Bilson, Jessica Alba and Steven Tyler
are all women with very full lips.’
Bonus points for the ‘You know how to whistle don’t you?’ Youtube clip.
thanks KD

Netwitness Investigator

Networking geeks will absolutely love Netwitness Investigator – it’s not got anything I haven’t already got a whole bunch of tools to do but they’re all here, together in a ridiculously simple tool that even my mother could use – they even have tutorials on their own youtube channel – check out this review for more details.

The Monty Python Youtube Channel

The Monty Python team (well, the living ones anyway), have announced the Monty Python Channel on YouTube in High Quality – it sounds like everything is going to be on there, tv shows, movies – the lot, for free. This internet thing, they seem to get it.

Threadless Customer Service – Big Thumbs Up

I’ve spent the past two weeks trying to order the excellent Now Panic and Freak Out t-shirt from Threadless but was having trouble with them accepting my order. After many emails and bugfixes going back and forth we cracked the issue but I’ve got to give them full marks for customer service, each response was personal and relevant without resorting to boilerplate emails. They also ended up giving me enough coupons as apologies that the t-shirt was free – good guys to deal with.

OOTTINLTO – Loon

A welcome return of our irregular (but favourite) series of One Of These Things I Not Like The Others – this time, it’s the Google image search for loon. Submitted by the ever-readable blogger Yorkshire Soul who says that sadly the odd one out isn’t a pr0n link but have heart – the related search suggestion from google is for ‘Beaver’.

Friend of pri.me.uk and certified nuttergenius Tom Scott has been at his antics again, this time trying to make a Tesco Value Spiderman. Next time Tom, why not try something a little less painful?

New Watchmen Trailer

I still can’t wait for the ”’Watchmen”’ movie so but here’s the latest Trailer – it looks soo good!
(on the plus side, I forgot about American date formats so I thought it was released on 3rd June so it made me happy to realise it’s 6th March!)

If you’ve seen ”’Wall-E”’ then you’ll get a kick out of this little extra about Burn-E. (It should still make sense even if you haven’t seen it though).

Stunning driving video from Ken Block – you have to watch this just for the bit where he does a series of doughnuts around a guy on a moving ”’segway”’.

Spy Lens

We’re loving the Super Spy Lens – it’s a very simple extension to your camera lens that allows to you take candid shots at right angles to where you’re pointing – even round corners (it spins 360 degrees) – great for taking shots of shy children or unsuspecting passers-by.

Ever wondered what you see when burnt at the stake like Joan of Arc or a witch? The guys at Bloggerheads stuck cctv camera inside a guy on a bonfire on ”’Guy Fawkes Night”’. The villagers brandishing flaming torches look positively medieval!

Propaganda Video Fail

Most people have heard of ”’Reefer Madness”’ – the most famous anti-something propaganda movie (if you haven’t seen it then you can watch it here) but there are so many other superb examples of these mis-guided Propaganda Videos – these ones are about Pr0nography, LSD, Homos3xuality, Popularity, and, bizarrely, Income Tax. If you are a music maker then these are an extremely rich source of excellent samples.

Caution – very un-PC thread

Now, it’s not our normal style to mock the afflicted – oh who am I kidding! Combine 1x body-building forum, 1x lame car, 1x canine and 1x dog unfortunately ugly girlfriend and you have the 62 pages of insults and sub-b3ta photoshops that follow the Got my girlfriend to model for my car thread. It shouldn’t be funny but it certainly falls into the WTF were you thinking category. (Caution NSFW or Eyes).

Movember

Guys, here’s a hint – if you’re taking part in Movember this year and want me to sponsor you – please don’t send me a mail that makes it sound like people who have moustaches look like dicks and it’s all a big laugh – I’ve had facial hair for over 15 yrs so by mocking it, you are basically saying that I’ve looked like a dick for 15 yrs.
(I do, in fact, look a complete idiot with my facial hair, it changes every few weeks to a new silly style but I don’t ask anyoe else for money for it!) Out of the 5 ‘sponsor me’ mails I received this weekend, only two didn’t make it seem like a tw4ttish thing to have or maybe I just had a sense of humour failure.

It’s like someone explained widgets and RSS to a marketing guy who insisted they do it for their company but …more so.

Special Olympics

It’s not the winning or losing that matters in QWOP, it’s the taking part. It’s not really a game, more of a physics engine but I was in hysterics trying to move more than 2metres – maybe that’s just the mood I’m in today!

Bloated Bloggage

In a recent look at the top 100 blogs (as ranked by Technorati), it seems that blogs are getting more bloated than ever before. More images and more scripts mean much longer loading times. The Load size analysis of the top 100 blogs shows that our theory of content over beauty is a rare beast these days (this blog takes 2.8 secs to load as opposed to boingboing‘s 5.8 secs according to Pingdom’s Full Page Test – a very handy tool indeed). Considering I now browse websites on mobile phones and other devices, this seems just as important as back in the narrowband dial-up days but far too many sites just assume you’ve got a big, fast, fat pipe (tube?) wherever you are – I disagree.

Flickbooks

I like the idea of Bob Book’s Flickbooks. You simply use their simple application to send them a video clip (the usual formats will work) and they convert them into very nifty flickbooks – they’d make brilliant unique and personal Xmas presents I reckon.

Contender for Worst Movie Ever

‘A skate-rock adventure of a deadly kind’ – I must find a copy of Shredder Orpheus to watch! Anything that looks that bad and manages to combine skateboarding with greek myths has to be…um, interesting. Cocaine had a lot to answer for in the 80/90′s!
