The Neo Cube

I shall be placing my order for a NeoCube tomorrow – see how cool it is here. There do seem to be a few places to buy them so I’ll check out where I can get the best deal. I wonder what size rail gun you could make with these?

Strong Force Inc, the makers of the NeoCube, has listings on eBay. That’s probably your best bet. I wouldn’t get one of the knock-offs, the coating wears off.

That was exactly my thinking, having done some research but I ordered from the main site instead of ebay.

there are other places where you can buy just the spherical magnets but they end up being more expensive than buying the Neo Cube as a whole. I’ve found this place which seems to be pretty cheap and UK based (and the product looks genuine?) so there’d be no import tax:

I did find that first4magnets site but it actually worked out cheaper buying in dollars from the neocube site itself.

I have a NeoCube and it’s a great little toy to fiddle with. The magnets are pretty tiny though, so a “gaussian gun” is probably not really an option with it.

That said, I HAD a NeoCube until the Mrs decided to “borrow” it…

Actually, first4magnets add VAT onto their price, and then there’s a delivery, so that makes it £43.10 from them…

From Neocube directly it works out to be $37.95 delivered (snailmail) = £26.42.

Quite a difference, even if you do get stung with import tax.

I know where I’m getting mine from ;)
