Hydepark Unityday
Apologies for the late notice but I clean forgot to post that tomorrow (Sat 1st August) is Leeds’ annual Hydepark Unityday festival. It’s completely free and if you’re in the area then please come along for 11 hours of excellent fun. You know it’s a good event when they don’t release the date of the festival until 2 weeks beforehand in order to limit the amount of people attending (if more than 10,000 people turn up then they have to shut down – they regularly get many more than that but I’ve yet to see them close it). Sorry to use such a cliche but there really is something for everyone.
On a related note, residents and ex-residents of the ‘hood that is LS6 will be sad to learn that Jean Crowther, who ran a flower shop at Hyde Park Corner for several decades, died a fortnight ago having finally lost her 20 yr battle with cancer. I can’t think of a better way of paying your respects than by attending Unity Day.
