Livin’ Large with Basketbawful

Basketbawful is a basketball blogger called Matt McHale. Back in the 90′s he started attending an unnamed University in the US (ok, it was Purdue) where he was allocated a dorm room that he had to share with a man-mountain Dutch athlete who was on a sports scholarship. He’s written up some of the stories as a series called Livin’ Large and I thoroughly recommend reading the entire series.
I think once you work out who his roomie was and who the soon-to-be NBA star in the University you get a feel for how surreal it must have been and yet how similar for anyone who’s been forced into sharing a room for a year with a complete stranger (much like big grom who spent a year sharing with an odd fellow who later turned out to have a predilection for wearing clothes normally intended for the opposite sex).
I’ll post a link in the comments showing you who his roommate was but I’d suggest not looking until you’ve read at least half of the 15 instalments posted so far.
