This Is Halloween
Since I’m just back from a week away at Disneyland Paris, Have a very cool video of Marilyn Manson doing This Is Halloween from ”’Nightmare Before Christmas”’.
Facebook gatecrashers wreck middle class house – really?
The standard of reporting in Brighton’s Argus is pretty dreadful at the best of times so I wasn’t entirely surprised to find out that a shock and awe teen facebook party horror story they ran with on the yesterday’s frontpage was faked.
Facebook undead
I did wonder when I read all the hubub about Facebook memorialising dead users accounts how easy it would be to fake your own or someone else’s death. Well, it appears it’s very easy, however being digitally reincarnated is much harder.
The everyday life of Darth
A collection of behind the scenes photographs of Darth off duty
Auto Tune the news
This is probably lots funnier if you can speak Dutch, but autotunedenieuws has made an urbany dance track of the Dutch news using AutoTune (the audio plugin that makes singers hit perfect pitch). I might be able to bear watching the news again if it was remixed.

Back Soon
I’m not going to be near a computer until the end of the week so play nicely until I’m back.
Cassetteboy vs Nick Griffin vs Question Time
Cassetteboy doesn’t mess about, he’s already edited last night’s Question Time down to the relevant bits so there’s no chance of Nick Griffin being misquoted.
Nick Griffin Question Time Drinking Game
I ended up extraordinarily drunk last night thanks to the Nick Griffin Question Time Drinking Game. Griffin lived up to expectation – being evasive when asked direct questions, repeatedly saying he was misquoted when confronted by quotes taken from video footage and loving every second of having a platform to speak even when being harangued by the whole audience. Winner of the night however had to be ”’Bonnie Greer”’ who made the comment of the night with her ‘You can laugh all you want, but if I was a BNP member, I’d be scared’ when talking about the party having been forced to change their constitution to allow ethnic minorities to join. I’d personally love to see a BNP meeting been overrun by the type of people they want to repatriate.
Burger King’s Windows 7 Burger
The marketing guys have been working overtime to try and work out how to shoehorn a promotion for Windows 7 into Burger King. This is what they came up with!
Star Wars vs. The Mighty Boosh
This Star Wars vs. The Mighty Boosh mashup is so full of win.
Graphic Designer vs client
You’ll need both headphones (for the rude words) and a ballgag (to stop yourself from laughing out loud in the office) to watch the Graphic Designer vs client video.
Machinarium
Those wonderful Czech developers at Amanita Design who created the classic Samorost games are back with a new, much larger game called Machinarium. There’s an online playable demo or you can buy it for about $20. I bought both Samorost games and will probably buy this one too, they’re just fantastic and in a league of their own.
Sell The Vatican, Feed The World
”’Sarah Silverman”’ comes up with another winning idea – Sell The Vatican, Feed The World.
thanks again Kim
The Greatest Pie Fights in Movies
I shouldn’t really need to write any further explanation other than to point you to The Greatest Pie Fights in Movies. I was tickled to read that ”’Stanley Kubrick”’ had intended to end ”’Dr Strangelove”’ with a pie fight originally!
cheers Kim
Serious Whoa!
Bear has just sent me a link to this video entitled Projection on Buildings and I thought, yeah, yeah, seen that before and then the video loaded.
I was all like, ‘Whoa, dude’ innit.
Vector Conflict: The Siege
If you’re as old as I am then you may remember one of the all-time classic arcade games (in fact, it’s #4 on the all-time Killer list – the Star Wars vector graphics game. I’ve just found Vector Conflict: The Siege which has a very similar feel. I didn’t think much of it for the first minute but by the time I was up to Wave 9, I was hooked – a very good game indeed!
Wombat Poo is Square!
…and there I was thinking that today was going to be a complete waste of a day when I stumbled onto the fact that Wombats do square Poo. Wikipedia agrees so it must be fact (damn, where’s the sarcasm tag?). Having spent many of my younger years believing that my dearly missed grandad Hamish would take me on a Haggis Hunt when I was old enough I was sceptical but unlike tartan paint and left handed screwdrivers, this one is apparently true!
Mattress Dominoes
For pure silliness, full marks to the ”’Blue Peter”’ team for breaking the world record for human dominoes using mattresses.
Letters of Note
Letters of Note is a fascinating site chock full of correspondence such as the Chinese template apology for being drunk letter or the infamous South Park memo (NSFW words), ”’Philip K. Dick””s letter to the movie company shooting Blade Runner or the young Australian rocket scientist.
Wasabi DX for Wii
It’s not often I give company reviews but full marks for speed to Hangar.org.uk for getting a Wasabi DX Solderless Wii mod chip to me in less than 24hrs and for about £7 cheaper than everywhere else. Let the hacking commence!
Dub FX
The more I see of ”’Dub FX”’, the more impressed I am. He has a gorgeously soulful voice and the skills to create brilliant tunes bit by bit. When you see him, watch his feet and notice how intricate and natural his tunes seem.
FLipping ‘Eck
Exactly how long do you think it took to make this video loop? I can’t imagine how you’d even start to make this. Stunning!
Boing Boing Classic
If boing boing don’t do something about the dreadful redesign they implemented recently then I’ll have to resort to using Boing Boing Classic instead, if only it had the comments incorporated too.
12 more rejected Star Wars promotional items
Why weren’t these 12 more rejected Star Wars promotional items ever made – I’d have bought them (all).
Sorry I’m Late
Sorry I’m Late is a short stop motion animation film made by Tomas Mankovsky and friends. Not only is it well worth watching but so are the making-of films on the site.
