Goo.gl
Goo.gl is Google’s own in-house url shortening service which has been available through various google apps but has now been released for everyone to use. Even better, if you add .qr to the end of the url and it will automatically send you to a QR Code for the url if that’s your kind of thing.
Unintended consequences of marketing
Has anyone here ever seen a dynamically placed advert that’s been of any use to them? The location based ones offer you discount hotels in the place you live and the product ones try to sell you things you’ve already bought. However the worst ones are the keyword ads that serve up banners based on the copy on the page. Needless to say they often go very very wrong.

Shapes of landscapes
Unlike in England where we have very limited space to build our urban and suburban spaces, American planners can have much more fun when designing these spaces. These arial photos show the patterns they have created when designing human spaces in Florida.
Japanese animal construction barriers
