Pteromechanophobics Look Away Now
Pteromechanophobia, aerophobia, aviatophobia, aviophobia or plain old fear of flying – it’s not irrational, we weren’t born with wings after all. If you suffer from this rational fear then best steer clear of the Airline Mishaps website.
cheers Ted

The Only Sci-Fi Movie You Need to Watch for the Rest of Your Life
Imagine that you’ve never seen any sci-fi movies and wanted to know where to start catching up on all the classics. You could watch The Matrix, Terminator, Transformers and you’d be nowhere near learning all of the cliches and in-jookes.
Or you could watch Endhiran a Kollywood (Bollywood but Tamil) movie that encompasses every recent cliche and mixes them all up into the weirdest, funniest movie you’ll see for a long time. Even this 10 min compilation below is almost too much to take in one sitting. and bonus points for having been redubbed in Russian for that extra mindwarp.
thanks Dan
Decorated leather jackets
We had an office watercooler moment this morning reminiscing our painted leather jackets and lo, what should appear on Fffound today but a photo library of tons of em.
Facebook Zombie
It’s taken many years but I’ve finally found something worthwhile on Facebook (and I don’t mean Mark Zuckerberg’s hacked page). Facebook Zombie is a superb prank played out via social networking.
Tuned Beer Bottle
Just what noisy pubs need – a Beer Bottle label handily printed with music calibration to help you play tunes on them. Actually a very good marketing ploy.
What a Difference 7 Years Makes
Compare and contrast the Wikipedia page for Barack Obama from 2004 to the current page.
30 Years of FPS Games
It’s been over 30 years since the first First Person Shooter Games appeared. My how they’ve evolved.
Shame this video doesn’t show my favourite game Kingpin:Life of Crime
From @a to @z
Introducing the 25 people who managed to grab single letter Twitter accounts.
Hard to wear fancy dress
Hate fancy dress parties? Why not go to the next one in a giving birth to yourself costume. You probably won’t ever get invited again.
Ladies alone, laughing whilst eating salad.
What’s the best gift we can give a woman? Well forget everything you’ve learned and witness the unbridled pleasure of solitude and salad.
Operation Job
I’ve met Ross Brown on numerous occasions and he’s always impressed me as a very clear-thinking, technical ideas man so it didn’t come as much of a surprise to see that he’s chosen a very unusual route to find a new job. He’s spammed his contacts (in a very polite way I should stress) to encourage them to read his blog post about Operation Job and he’s offered a bounty of £250 to anyone who finds him the right role. What I really love about this approach is that it sums up Ross – he’s taken something that big companies do all the time (offer bounties for job roles) but managed to make it new, relevant and eye catching to everyone else.
Kudos dude and good luck with the search.
A Cure for Tinnitus?
This press release looks very interesting – a possible cure for tinnitus.
Just How Fast Are F1 cars?
If you’ve ever wondered exactly how fast Formula 1 cars are in comparison to other sports cars then watch these two clips and prepare to be astounded.
There’s a Job Going At Domino’s
Looks like there’s an Assistant Manager job going at Domino’s. I’d hire this man, just for the Narwhal reference!
Real Life Superheroes
superheroes have long held a fascination for many an adolescent but there are always some people ready to try to take it just that little bit further. The Real Life Superheroes Registry lists many such ‘Real’ ‘life’ ‘super’ heroes’ – Have a look and check out the wiki for such odd nuggets of info like ‘Tools of the Trade: Modified Potato cannon’ and ‘Vehicle: 1986 Nissan pick-up’ – No-one said being a hero paid well did they? There’s also a manual to peruse for guidance and evidence of these people actually doing some good.
Awkward Stock Photos
Now here’s a site that has a lot of potential. Naked man in a field wearing a tut? Check. Awkward Stock Photos has this and much, much more.
Cee-Lo for Deaf People
Excellent sign-language (ASL, not BSL for those who care – I hadn’t realised quite how different they actually are) performance of Cee-lo Green’s un-neutered Fcuk-You tune.
Looking for a new phone?
Bit of an unusual link for us but if you’re looking for a new phone, might I recommend the ZTE Blade? Known in the UK as the Orange San Francisco and only available from Orange. It’s only £99 for the handset but is free to unlock to use on any network and is the most hackable phone I’ve ever used (thanks in no small way to the army of posters at XDA Developers and Modaco). I’ve had mine for about 4 months now and would happily give up my iphone 4 if I had to choose only one phone. If you need a new phone or want to tinker with Android or just want to shut up the annoying fanbois then go grab one and hack away. (I’m also a fan of the Samsung Galaxy S but you can pay 4 times the amount of the ZTE Blade/San Francisco for it and get nothing extra)
Zombie Dubstep Wedding Party
Old men dancing zombie dubstep, random firing of weapons under the influence of alcohol – they know how to make this girl’s wedding the Best Day of Her Life in the Balkans.
cheers to KD for this link and the previous one
Selling Computers – China Style
I have no idea what this Chinese advert has to do with IBM or selling servers but I like their style.
Gunhild Carling
Gunhild Carling is certainly unique. It’s hard to give an explanation of this Swedish Jazz musician’s very individual talents but check out the video for a highly unusual experience. Keep watching as it gets more and more odd.
I shot the Serif!
I shot the Serif! but I didn’t shoot the sans serif in this type-geek game.
I Watched Your Hack
I watched your hack and frankly, it wasn’t very good. Let’s laugh at the script kiddies trying to pwn a server. (Reminds me, unfortunately, of myself about 17 years ago having watched War Games once too often)
Muppets with People Eyes
Muppets with People Eyes – not at all creepy, oh no.
