Rob Zombie directs detergent ad

Yep, you read that right, Rob Zombie has directed a TV spot to promote Woolite as part of an attempt to update their image! Unsurprisingly there’s a distinct lack of pretty young mums looking forlornly at their kids muddy football kits.

Anyone for a street cleaning simulation game?

Could this be the ‘must have’ release of 2011 – a Street Cleaning simulator with a soundtrack that wouldn’t be out of place in a Modern Warfare release. If I had a PC, I’d play this. Keep it tidy people.

Brighton Geeks GGHC submission

As part of element14?s Great Global Hackerspace Challenge BuildBrighton submitted this fabulous Phonicubes project. Phonicubes is a super nerdy way of teaching kids to read using the Phonics system. It uses an Arduino Duemilanove, a protoshield, a custom wave shield, and an ID-2 RFID module for a total cost of £81, well under the team’s US$900 budget. Well done guys :)

Slice HD will hurt your fingers

In Slice HD you manipulate knives, stabbing instruments, and razors in order to hit the red button. Sometimes the objects move in ways you don’t expect, and in other levels moving one piece triggers something else. It looks nerve-wracking, and not one for those with a fear of blood or sharps!

The Valparaiso Cerro Abajo race in Chile is a downhill mountain bike race through a hillside village. It’s famous for being one of the most insane urban downhill races in the world, and this year even though the course didn’t go through anyones houses this headcam footage really shows off what an amazing ride it is.
